We deliver cat ladder systems incl. back protection in natural aluminium, anodised aluminium, galvanised steel, and V4A stainless steel. All cat ladders have grooved non-slip rungs. Cat ladders conform to applicable German standards.

Depending on their usage, relevant standards and provisions must be observed. Emergency ladders and cat ladders with back protection must be installed in accordance with standard specifications.

Cat ladders in accordance with DIN 18 799-1 (cat ladders for inspection, service, and cleaning work on structures)

Cat ladders in accordance with EN ISO 14122-4 (ascents and machine systems)

Cat ladders in accordance with DIN 14094 - 1 (usage as emergency ladder system)

Omitting fall protection is permitted for emergency ladders.

You can also purchase a comprehensive selection of accessories for our cat ladders and emergency ladders, such as various wall anchors, exit platforms (as a base or expansion podium), side stiles and folding resting platforms, as well as extendable or lowering cat ladder sections. One lockable climbing protection door and safety door on top to prevent unauthorised access.

In accordance with DIN 18799-1 – Fixed cat ladders on structures made of steel, stainless steel, or aluminium

Please note:

Above a 5 m fall height, if possible from a construction standpoint, back protection must be available
Above a 10 m fall height, the cat ladder must be designed at an offset; the maximum length of one ladder section may not exceed 10 m
The ladder sections must be designed higher for side stiles
Railings attached to both sides of the cat ladder are required for unsecured exit areas, see EN ISO 14122-4
If the gap width at the exit is larger than 75 mm, an exit step must be ordered
A safety door is recommended at the exit
The heights of the individual ladder sections and spacing between resting platforms must selected in view of the groups of persons who will be using the equipment and their experiencing in using cat ladder systems:

1) Persons with experience (e.g. antenna installers)

2) Persons without experience (e.g. private individuals)
